WARNING:
Spray on cleaners used in households can cause serious damage to curtain fabrics.
Many fabrics are not colour fast and many of these cleaners will either change or remove the colour from the fabric.
Sometimes this may not be noticeable until the curtain gets wet either when being cleaned or through water ingress at the window.
There is no way to remedy this and the curtain will remain damaged.
The pictures below show what happens.
Splotches show where colour has been stripped from the curtain material.
Thankyou for your comment.
We see plenty of this type of damage and I have specifically not included or excluded any brand of product.
People do not always READ the instructions on product and even when they do will still not do as they are advised.
Different materials will give different results. Seemingly the same material will give different results because there are plenty of copy cat materials that are not the same as the one they copy.
If you used it on white linings then there will be no difference. No colour to lose.
This is intended to warn people to be careful what they do. That’s all.
We know of a complete appartment of curtains worth in the vicinity of $10000 totalled by misuse of sprays. Unfortunately the owner was left without compensation because the tenant had gone back overseas before the curtains were cleaned.
While you had a good experience at the moment one wonders about the person who eventually gets to clean your curtains, for all you have done is remove the mould stain and have not cleaned the curtains. Time and a clean will tell.
We have also hadplenty of customers who have told us of doing the same thing.
this most unfair as my husband & i have used a product we brought on trademe we just followed the instructions on the label by the way our curtains are a red colour & not thermal
